ASUU Finally Analize All What Federal Government Must Do Before Strike Could End.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities has outlined steps the government must take in order to end its six month long academic strike.
Speaking on Channels Tv Politics Yesterday, The Union Pesident, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, said the government must possess transparency.
The Nigerian Government should tell us and Nigerians – the money that has been alleged to have been approved for revitalisation – how much is it and where is it kept? When is it gonna be released?” Prof Osodeke said.
The ASUU President- Osodeke added that the government must clearly state its position on the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS), a payroll system which the Union wants as a replacement for the Integrated Payroll and Personnel information system (IPPIS).
“Also, have they accepted the agreement we reached when we had meeting with their panel? They should come out and tell us this, and not go to the press,” Professor Emmanuel Osodeke said.
The Academic Staff University Union President- Osodeke accused the Federal Government of appealing to sensibilities rather than solving the problems raised by the union.
“Strike is a signal of problem,” Professor Emmanuel Osodeke said, He added that whenever FG finds solutions to these listed problems, strike would be a thing of yesterday and resumption would take place.
